Foot print Analysis with Jamie

Hello, people today this post is about what we have been learning about this week so far. We have learned that you can tell the height of the person by their footprint. It only works for adults though. For a project, we had to dip our feet in water-based paint and stand on the paper and then the footprint came off and onto the paper.

There are four things you can use to identify a person by their footprints. Things like cracks, cuts or a  stone stuck in the bottom of the shoe. It can help identify the height of the footprint. The other thing is the pattern of the footprint.

Summary of Forensics

Hello people today's post is about a summary of what we have done this week in our new hurmanu/Forensics. This week so far we have been learning about evidence and how people can solve a crime. When we first started this class with a site that we had to try to solve a crime. The next day we had to learn about evidence and how it is used to prove a crime scene and the next day we had to write a summary which is this.

What are Forensic scientists: Forensic science, also known as criminalistics, is the application of science to criminal and civil laws, mainly—on the criminal side—during criminal investigation, as governed by the legal standards of admissible evidence and criminal procedure.

Why do we need Forensic Scientists? Forensic scientists apply scientific knowledge and skills to investigating crimes and helping the police find or eliminate crime suspects. They may also do research into developing or improving forensic techniques.

What are some of the jobs they do?

  • Crime scene attendants.
  • Fingerprint officers.
  • Behavioural analysts.
  • Electronic crime analysts.
  • Document examiners.
  • Scene of crime officers.

What type of evidence do they collect: The most common biological evidence found at crime scenes are body fluids (eg blood, saliva). The surface on which they are deposited determines the collection and packaging procedure to be carried out. Wet stains are always air-dried before packaging can take place.

Is it a crime- Forensics

Hello, people, who can be bothered to read this today we are doing Forensics in class.  We have to figure out if something is a crime or not.

1. This stick man is opening a door but if have to figure out if he is breaking in or not, or I could just guess. So by the looks of it, I think he owns the car and he's just opening the door but it looks sus either way.

2. Someone is been run over and the driver is not stooping so I think it's a crime aka hit and run.

3. There is a person wid a hat on and he has a bag of money and he's running so I think its sus because if he was the bank owner moving money he would not be running so I think it is a crime.

4. There is a person on a bed dead with a poison sign so I reckon she has killed herself wid poison because there is no one else in the room.

5. There is a person that looks like he has been stabbed so it is a crime scene.

6 There are two cars crashing so I reckon someone is wrong and caused a crash so I think it is and not a crime scene it's hard to tell.

Sceince report.

Aim: To draw the electrical circuit of the house.

Method: The method we used was to draw a house on a piece of paper with light bulbs in each room depending on how many rooms we had.

Results: I learned how many volts there were but then forgot after the next day.

Discussion: What does Voltage mean: Voltage, electric potential difference, electric pressure or electric tension is the difference in electric potential between two points, which is defined as the work needed per unit of charge to move a test charge between the two points.

Electromotive force,

What does current mean: An electric current is a stream of charged particles, such as electrons or ions, moving through an electrical conductor or space. It is measured as the net rate of flow of electric charge through a surface or into a control volume

Conclusion: We made a circuit using our house and I forgot some stuff but yeah that's it.

Human rights

Hello Guys, girls and attack helicopters. This post is about human rights. I have written/improvised on black lives matter. Down below is a little tiny essay about black lives matter. It's only a little because Mr carter forgot we finish soon. So he should get a life.

Click here to find the link to my short essay.

Black Lives Matter is a phrase, and notably, a hashtag used to highlight racism, discrimination and inequality experienced by black people.

Its use grew in the US after high-profile killings by police, but it has also been used in the UK and elsewhere.

Supporters point to the fact that black people are much more likely to be shot by police in the US. They say that in the US and many other countries, they also suffer many other forms of discrimination.

They want action to address unequal treatment and oppression that goes all the way back to the era of slavery, but which continues today.

In term 3 we learned about Parihaka we did a slide on it below is what we did.

What I have not enjoyed is my business studies class it is just not my thing. My other favourite thing in term two was going into lockdown because no school but now we are out of it and I'm back at school): My favourite hurumau this term was probably hurumanu 2 and 1. We still have the same hurumanu classes next term as well but I can't remember what I chose for term 4 tech. I did like the arts kete we did this term it was fun unlike before this term I did not like it at all. Well, that's all for now bye.

ICT Reflection for term1 & 2

Hello people todays post is about an overview of ICT on this post I will be telling you about what we did through out the term 1 and 2.

Term: 1

In term one we learned about cyber security how to stay safe on the internet, we learned not share any information to people online that we don't know. We played a game called interland which is an online came that teachers you how to be internet safe here is the link if you wanna have a go. .Click here We then did a kahoot about cyber safety, we had to do a maximin of 6-10 slides on how to be cyber safety. We also did typing.com and nitro type to work on our typing skills.

After the cyber safety we learned about file management we also, so for this thing we had to go into our files go to student pool on files open ICT  click on 9 ICT open the required word doc and edit what it tells us to do. We would then put it back into file management and make sure it is in the right place. Then we got given Pronto books and we had to copy stuff like a paragraph of text and correct some of the words then in came the file management.

We then did drawings on word we had to draw a boat and learn how windows word worked when you used smart art we also had a range of different drawings we could draw. We then copied down an Easter recipe and fixed mistakes and made it look the same but better. We then did a poster on kids eat free but we had to do our own version of it this was a poster, we did this also on word.

Term: 2

In term 2 we did more writing and editing first we edited the wrongly spelt word then we changed the layout of the paragraphs. We then did two more the same. We then moved onto a new app called publisher and we had to make our own calendars with backgrounds I had random stuff as my background. We then used the yellow book to do basic formula graphs.

Making afghans

 Making afghans in cooking.

Hello people today's post is about making afghans, for this we got choices on what we could make and me and my pair Jack choose afghans because it was the quickest one we could find and that we liked, so we choose that one. We had to make a list of the ingredients that we needed on a google doc.

Then the following week came and we got to make them, our cooking teacher Miss roads had the ingredients ready for us. We got to work, I did the wet ingredients and jack did the dry ingredients. So we completed both of them and combined them. When we added them we had to mix them together, once finished mixing them we had an afghan dough.

For more detailed instructions on what we actually did keep reading.

So first I creamed the butter with sugar which is mixing the butter and sugar together to make it smooth and creamy. Jack did the dry ingredient which was sifting the flour and cocoa into a bowl, then we added the dry ingredients to the creamed butter and sugar and then mixed which made it all into a dough we then made it into a decent-sized ball then put it into the oven on bake 180 Celsius.

Make sure you actually preheat the oven to the temp I mentioned up top, they took like 15 minutes. We took them out of the oven and let them cool down we had the chocolate icing made already which I did with a little help from one of the helpers. But unfortunately, the afghans did not cool down quick enough so the icing melted a little and they were still quite soft so they fell apart easily.

Well, that's all for today scroll down to see the recipe we followed.

The recipe here is a more updated one and we did not use vanilla essence.

Rising water experiment

Hello Everyone today's post is about our water experiment.

First, you put some water in the plastic dish put the candle in the dish with water, and then light the candle on fire then put the cup over top.

The aim was: To see what happens to the water level when the candle is covered.

My Hypothesis that the plastic cup would set on fire which it did, only it happened with a little bit of help so in the end my Hypothesis was right(:

Results: The cup set on fire and smoked, and as soon as I put the cup over the candle it went out as it probably could not get any co2.

Conclusion: Well, in the end, the cup set on fire, the water stayed the same and the candle went out like a couple seconds after I put it ontop.

This the full list of stuff you will need:

Fire.

Water

Tape for water(:

Plastic dish

Plastic cup

Teacher to Babysit you when you get the chance to handle fire and remember kids fire is dangerous(:

Crystalliation Blog/Chemistry

Hi people today's post is about what we did last week in science which was making crystals with borax.

The aim of the experiment was to make crystals.

Method: Boil water in a beaker on a Gauze mat and Tripod over a Bunsen Burner. When boiled turn the gas off. Add spatula heaps of Borax, waiting for it to dissolve until adding more. When the solution is saturated, leave to cool with a pipe cleaner suspended in the beaker.

Equipment: Beaker, borax, Heat mat, Tripod, Gauze mat, Bunsen Burner and pipe cleaner.

Conclusion: We disovolved the borax in the water, we made a concentrated solution. Useing crystallization we seprated the borax from the water.

Chemistry

Hello bloggers and welcome back to my blog this post is about one of our experiments which was Dilution and Filtration.

1. Which test tube had the most concentrated sample of Copper nitrate: The darkest tube

2. When we added water what were we doing to the concentration of the solution: It lightened the color

3. Which concentration of copper nitrate formed the most precipitate, why do you think this is the case: There were chemicals in the first the second, or 3.

Equipment: 1. 4 Test tubes 2. Test tube rack the chemical solutions Copper nitrate and sodium hydroxide.

Key terms: Filtering is when you can separate the solute (solid) from the solvent (liquid)

Separate means to slip apart

Once the solvent has been filtered that is called the filtrate.

Chemistry

 Chemistry.

Aim: See how long water would last in a paper box with a flame under the box.

Equipment: Bunsen burner, heat mat, Try pod, gas, water, paper, glue safety googles, lighter, and Water beacon.

Saftey steps: Saftey googles, walking inside, hair tied up, being and carefully of the fire.

So to do this experiment you will need the stuff I have named up the top and follow the safety steps.
First, you will need to make a paper box make sure the box is strong enough to hold water, and make sure it does not leak water. Set up the Bunson burner make sure it is plugged into a gas source make sure the hole in the bottom side of the bunsen burner is closed. Turn the gas on and get a lighter to light the top of the bunsen burner make sure the flame is blue let it heat up, fill the paper box with water then put it on top of the try pod which will go on top of the Bunson burner. Make sure you have a heat mat underneath the Bunson burner time how long it last without bursting into flames.

Bullying

 What is Bullying?

The behaviour of a person who hurts or frightens someone smaller or less powerful, often forcing that person to do something they do not want to do: Bullying is a problem in many schools.

Whether bullying is physical, verbal, or social (relational), four widely-accepted factors can be used to identify it:

Bullying is deliberate - harming another person intentionally.

Bullying involves a misuse of power in a relationship.

Bullying is usually not a one-off - it is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated over time

Bullying involves behaviour that can cause harm - it is not a normal part of growing up.

Physical bullying:

This involves hurting someone, or damaging or stealing their belongings. It includes:

  • hitting, kicking, pinching, spitting, biting
  • tripping, shoving or intimidating another person
  • mean or rude hand gestures
  • touching another person when they don't want you to
  • being made afraid of being hurt
  • stealing or damaging possesions.

Verbal bullying

This involves saying or writing mean things. It includes:

  • name calling
  • teasing someone in a hurtful way
  • making fun of someone
  • being sarcastic in a hurtful way
  • offensive comments, insults or jokes about someone and their family because of their race, culture, religion, disability or sexuality.
  • mean comments about someone's body or physical characteristics such as their weight or height
  • hurtful comments about the way someone looks or behaves
  • inappropriate sexual comments
  • taunting
  • threatening to cause harm.

Social bullying

This involves hurting someone's relationships or reputation. It includes:

  • ignoring or leaving someone out on purpose
  • telling others not to be friends with someone
  • spreading rumours about someone
  • destroying relationships and friendships
  • embarassing someone in public
  • sharing information or images that will have a harmful effect on the other person
  • telling lies or stories about someone to make others not like them.

Food tech.

Savoury Bread cases.

Welcome back people to my blog, last Friday we made bread cases. This is the first actual cooking part we have done this term, this is a pretty easy thing to make. It is basically baked beans on toast, First, we had to collect our equipment: Cheese, Bread, Margarine, Baked beans, and spaghett.
We then grated the cheese, buttered the bread, cut the crust of the bread place bread in a muffin tray, bake the bread at 180 degrees for like 5 minutes. Take the muffin tray out, put in fillings I used bake beans ham and cheese. Place the tray back in the oven for at least 8 minutes. Then take out of the oven let cool down and enjoy.

Here is another way to make them: Click here
